Copy Views via Files

Can someone please comment on the notion of copying views by finding the "Views" folder for the source module in the database and copying it over the "views" folder in the target module in some other database?  I almost never play with the database files (bad Karma, lots of VooDoo, scared of mice...); but am thinking:

  • Use the uniqueID(mod) to determine the name of the module's folder in the database
Folder name looks like: print "/m" uniqueID(current Module) ".mod"
  • Copy the source module's "Views" folder to USB drive (or other media)
  • move USB drive to other database server
  • rename the target module's "Views" folder to "Views_Old".  Delete folder after confirming the new Views are OK.
  • Copy the "Views" folder from USB to target module's folder

It is understood that most Analasis wizard Layouts will fail because they hard-code the UniqueID of the link-Modules and link partners.

I notice the above does not let you "add" views; just replace them completely.
